Janet Ford enjoyed many years working with children. She spent several years working in schools and then established her own nursery for young children.
After a successful career in childcare, Janet retired and was able devote more time to art, which had always been a lifelong passion. She studied art and sculpture, with her work exhibited in her local area and her sculptures finding homes throughout the world.
Latterly, her creative outlet has been writing. She has written and illustrated five children’s books based around the dogs in her life. The first was inspired by her daughter’s terrier, India, a true life story about a little dog who travelled the world. The other four books draw on Janet’s own dog, the mischievous Penny, who is always finding new adventures.
Janet lives in West Berkshire with her husband and little Yorkshire terrier, Penny.
